Your library floor plans are due today!!!!!
1. MUG Shot - First, we'll go over your quizzes from last week and then we'll do Sentence #12 (15 corrections):
Hey Elena said Steven Baron Sr as we unpacked did you forget the grapes. You forgot the T shirts, to? Oh brother! (606, 590, 593, 588, 619, 627, 700)
2. Vocabulary - Today will be a review day for the Week 4 words. The worksheet over these words will be due tomorrow, February 21.
3. Reading Workshop - Don't forget that today is the deadline for reading to count for the 1st quarter.
4. Nonfiction vs Reference Books - First, you'll view a PowerPoint presentation on the two types of books and take some notes in the "notes" section of your class notebook. After that, you will be given a list of book titles that represent a cross-section (25-30 on all topics) of reference books found in our library. You'll divide into small groups and make some educated guesses about the book titles on the list: Which Dewey category does each fall into? What type of information do you think the book probably contains? When do you think you might have to use it? We'll go over the list at the end of the hour. It's important you pay close attention when we go over what the books are actually about; it will help you tomorrow!
ASSIGNMENT: Vocabulary Worksheet over Week 4 is due Thursday, February 21.
EXTRA CREDIT: Choose a comic strip from the newspaper, being sure to choose one that is at least four frames long. Rewrite the conversation in the strip using correct dialogue format and adding any narrative that's necessary. Use looseleaf paper and write them in ink, please -- or type them. These are due by Friday, February 22.
